‘DEADLY’ Canned Soda

In the past, we have alluded to the extra high sugar contents of soft drinks which, together with other high-carbo foods, contribute to the development of type 2 diabetes. All types of soft drinks, including the diet or light version, have also been implicated in a “grand slam” condition so called Metabolic Syndrome (combination of hypertension, diabetes, heart disease/stroke), a triple slap of major illnesses.

This topic today relates to an incident where a woman, on a Sunday boating trip, drank a can of soft drink from a boat refrigerator. She fell ill and was taken to the hospital the following day. She died two days later. The autopsy revealed she died of Leptospirosis, a deadly infection caused by dried rat urine, which contains highly toxic substances. Obviously, the can from which the victim drank, without washing, was contaminated with rat urine. These canned beverages (and all canned, bottled and packaged foods) are typically stored in warehouses prior to distribution stores, where rodents may be present in either places. For canned soft drinks, it is best to clean the top before opening, to use a straw or to drink from a glass. Obviously, general precautions must be taken for anything we ingest.

Just recently, while I was browsing some of my favorite blogs during my break period, a certain post caught my attention. It is indeed very interesting… especially that after almost two years, I am back to blogging! So what is the post all about? Well, it is sort of a campaign on finding the 10 most emerging influential blogs of 2009. This is organized by Janet Toral with the help of Absolute Traders, My Brute Cheats, and Business Summaries.

There are actually a lot of bloggers who have influenced me to start blogging… but because most of them are considered “pioneers” in this blogging industry or should I say ‘world’, I could not include them on this list.

Anyway, allow me to introduce to you the ten (10) blogs that I have decided to include on my list of most emerging and most influential blogs for 2009. These are blogs that started anytime from May 1, 2008 to the present. And I am sure that these blogs are gradually gaining a considerable amount of readership and influence… add the fact that they are those who have helped me decide to be back on blogging…

Time for Episode 2!

It's August 28, 2007 and I am so excited! What's with August 28 by the way?…

Well it happens to be my birthday! But that's not what makes me excited… It's the launch of episode 2 that makes me really excited. Huwaaaaaaaaaaw! The long wait is over! Its already here. Im expecting a lot more changes and challenges. And of course I am also expecting of more "comeback" gamers/players. Hoping to see my friends since open beta again like Escalla, Minstrel, Ayz, Check, Terralenaire and a lot more.

It's still maintenance and servers are still down… Im hoping that it will be back soon.

But for the meantime I have to go home and have some sleep. I still have work tonight.

A Better Corite Community

It's early in the morning… around 7:00 AM.

There are few Corites around the Headquarters and around the settlement areas. Less talk, less noise, less disturbance, less nuisance and above all, less politics. Everyone who's online concentrates on what they're doing. You can see Corites helping each other in terms of PL, PK and Farming. Others chat with their buddies and try to enjoy the peaceful morning. It seems like nobody wants to ruin the day.

It's early in the morning around 7:00 AM when I decided to go online today.

I hope it's early morning all the time… because it's the only time you can see a better Corite Community.
